PPL Calgary - Intermix Division - Resuming Play

Hi Everyone:

I really thought we were toast until the Fall.

However…..with the vaccinations kicking in, it now looks like the bars could be reopen on the 10th of June.

Normally, the PPL does not operate in the Summer but….. there is nothing normal these days.

We have a suspended Session from last Fall to finish up and I think pool players are itching to get back into playing and hanging out with friends and family.

So, why not give it a go?

Here’s the overall plan.

The Hidden Spot has already confirmed their re-opening in June which really helps.

Restart
Weekly play on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday nights would resume the week of June 21st, 22nd and 23rd.
There is no change in Match Format. This combined Fall 20 / Summer 21 Session will remain 4 Player – 20 Game which should help to field your team.
Match start times in PPL Calgary will stay at 7PM.
No worries if it takes your team an extra week or so to get reorganized.

Weekly play would continue for another 10 weeks to the week of August 30th, 31st and Sept 1st.

Fall 20/Summer 21 Playoffs
The Playoffs would be after Labour Day on the weekends of September11/12th and September 18th/19th.
Final Team Standings etc. will consist of the matches previously played last Fall combined with the 10 matches to be played this Summer.
Besides the usual Cash Prizes in League play and the Playoffs, there will also be paid Team Trips to the CCS BC Championships to be won.

Fall 21 Start
League play on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday nights will start the week after Labour Day on September 13th, 14th, and 15th.
The Match Format will change back to the normal 5 Player – 25 Games.

For now, we’ll just have to wait until June 10th for confirmation that our bars will be allowed to fully reopen, and that playing pool is allowed.
