The Idea behind Intermix
In League Play, teams from Novice to Intermediate play together in a short 12 week schedule and then based on how everyone did, split all the teams into 2 or more Groups for the Playoffs.
This means that in the Playoffs, teams will be playing others who are all closer to their skill level.
Share The Wealth
All Playoff Groups will have an equal split of the total available Intermix Prize Funds.
Additionally, team handicaps will be used making it even fairer for all teams to have a good shot at winning the dough.
Best of Both Worlds
In League Play you get the chance to play the better teams but when it comes to the Playoffs where the money is, you only play teams closer to you.
So, even if you're on the wrong end of a lopsided match in League Play, don't be discouraged. Treat it as an experience and have fun.
And then kick ass in the Playoffs!
1. Length of Schedule

Any player without an average will use 8.0.
5. Prize Fund Payouts
Each Match: All players can win a cash prize of $10 if they achieve the following:
C Ranked player - 1 Runout B Ranked player - 2 Runouts A ranked player - 3 Runouts
League Play The team finishing in first place in their Division in league play will win a cash prize equal to $50 times the number of teams in their division ie. $50 x 10 teams = $500
Playoffs The balance of the prize funds will be awarded in the Team Playoffs in the form of paid Championship Team Entries and cash prizes.
6. Team Playoffs
To be scheduled on one of 3 weekends immediately following the end of the league schedule.
All players must be team 'originals' and must have played the equivalent of 4 full matches to be eligible to play in the Playoffs.
A player may play on 2 teams in the Playoffs. Should the 2 teams meet each other, then the player must decide on which team that they'll be playing for, including the rest of the Playoffs.
All Playoff Matches will be a 5 Player - 25 Game format and be played at the Hideout.
Teams will split into separate Playoff Groups based on relative skill level as indicated by final team standings at the end of the league schedule.
Minimum of 8 teams / maximum of 16 in each group.
Each group will have an equal share of the available prize funds.
The teams finishing in the top 1/3 of each Playoff Group will receive a paid CCS or ACS Championship team entry.
The first team entry won is 'use or lose'. The second one won (in a later session) may be used or cashed out at full value.
The Cash Prize payouts will be done as follows:
Minimum of $100 to last place. Maximum of 30% of the total cash available to first place. The balance to be split in an even progression amongst the other teams based on their respective finishing place.
Team Handicaps will be used in all Playoff Groups.
7. Team Spare
Each team will have a phantom player called 'Your Team Name - Spare' added to their team roster.
Should a team be short a player, the other players who are there can play the games of the missing player on a rotating basis ie. one each. The game results will be shown against this phantom player and in the stats.
This phantom player will have an average which should be used when computing the team handicap.
The phantom player can be used in the Playoffs.
8. Awards Banquet
The Intermix Division will contribute to the Awards Fund the same all other divisions.

Here's what's happening in the PPL for 2010-11:
• Teams in the A - Advanced and L - Ladies Division pay a higher Weekly Fee of $20 with a longer schedule of 26 or 30 weeks. All teams receive a guaranteed Vegas Team Trip consisting of Team Entry, a Room Allowance and a minimum Travel Allowance. Every team has the opportunity to increase their Travel Allowance in Team Playoffs at the end of the Schedule. The Allowances are guaranteed, paid by cheque and Teams have the alternative option of using same for any CCS Championship in Canada (BC, Westerns or Canadians).
Teams in the I - Intermix Divsion pay a lower Weekly Fee of $13 and play a shorter Session of 12 weeks. All teams are eligible to enter any CCS Championship in Canada or the ACS Championship in Vegas. They have the opportunity to win a paid Team Entry and substantial cash prizes in League Play and the Playoffs. Take the dough or go to a Tourney - it's up to you. There will be 3 Sessions - Fall / Winter / Spring. Play whatever sessions work for you.
• There will now be a weekly Cash Prize of $10 for any player who gets the following number of Runouts in a Match - C Ranked - 1, B Ranked - 2, Runouts, A/AA - 3..
• The FINALS of all the League Playoffs and Tournaments will be held at the Hideout.
• The A Advanced and L Ladies Divisions are all dual sanctioned CCS/VNEA. This means that they have a choice of going to either the ACS Vegas or the VNEA Vegas Tournament.
Here's what's happening with the 8Ball Championships for 2010/11:
ACS - American CueSports Alliance
• The ACS US NATIONALS are held in Las Vegas and are moving to the Tropicana. Located at the south end of the Vegas Strip, it is surrounded by the MGM Grand, New York, and the Excalibur. The Tropicana has what is probably the best pool area in Vegas and is currently undergoing a $150 million renovation.
Even better are the dates. The ACS tourney is moving from mid June to early May (7-14) for 2011 and beyond.
A very popular new feature is the scheduling of 8 and 9 Ball Team play at the same time starting on the Wednesday with no conflicts. 9 ball is in the morning and 8 Ball is in the afternoon. This means you get to play in 2 Events during the same time. They also did the same for 8 and 9 Ball Singles.
There is now also a 'No Entry Fee' 2nd Chance Divisions with Cash Prizes for all Events.
CCS - Canadian Cue Sports Association
The CCS now has over 7000 Canadian players in their player ranking database with stats from 43 Championships since 1996. They also draw on rankings from the BCAPL and the VNEA. If you are Canadian and you play good, chances are you're there and you have a ranking.
• The 6th Annual CCS BRITISH COLUMBIA is now held at the beautiful Lakeside Resort & Casino in Penticton BC on February 13-27.
• The 9th Annual CCS WESTERNS will be held in Calgary AB once again at the Acadia Rec Centre from April 13-17..
